Hi! I graduated from St. John’s University in Queens, NY in May of 2011 with an MLS (Master in Library Science) and a concentration in archives and digital libraries. I currently work in an Archive in lower NY state.
I got my current job through an aquaintence after a few convertations made it clear that I was looking for a job in the field and the father of my aquaintences knew someone who works in the archive. It just goes to show that you never know who knows someone that could get you a job! And also, that knowing someone on the inside or beeing referred by someone who knows someone on the inside is extremely benecial!
This a blog that I started for my Web 2.0 class. I try to keep it going even though the class ended long ago (I took the class in my first semester!) Since I don’t think many people are following this blog and those who are have not complained yet, I pretty much just use it as a way to share thoughts and ideas that I find personally interesting.
